Welcome to Hire a Buddy. These terms are the rules for using hireabuddy.net. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Hire a Buddy.

1. What Hire a Buddy is

Hire a Buddy is a website that helps community members (“Neighbors”) find local students and job seekers (“Buddies”) for short jobs like yard work, moving help, pet care, tech help and tutoring. We only help people find and talk to each other. We are not an employer, staffing agency or contractor, and we don’t perform, supervise or guarantee any job.

2. Who can use it

• You must be at least 18 years old to create any account.
• You must give true, current information about yourself, including your name, school and location.
• One person, one account. Keep your password private. You’re responsible for activity on your account.

3. Buddies are independent

Buddies are independent people, not employees of Hire a Buddy or of the Neighbors they help. Neighbors and Buddies decide the work, schedule and pay between themselves. Each person is responsible for following the law, including any taxes on money they earn.

4. Payment

Payment is arranged directly between the Neighbor and the Buddy. Hire a Buddy does not currently handle payments, and we are not responsible for payment disputes. Agree on the pay before the job starts.

5. Safety and conduct

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, discriminate against or mistreat anyone.
• Post false, misleading or offensive content, or pretend to be someone else.
• Offer or request anything illegal or dangerous.
• Use the site to scam people, ask for money unrelated to a job, or send spam.

Please read our Safety Tips. Use the Report and Block buttons if anyone makes you uncomfortable. In an emergency, call 911.

6. Reviews

Reviews must be honest and based on a real job you did together. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive or break these rules.

7. Our right to remove accounts

We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these terms or put others at risk.

8. No guarantees

We do not run background checks unless we clearly say so, and we can’t guarantee anyone’s identity, skills, behavior or the quality of any job. You use Hire a Buddy and work with other users at your own risk. The site is provided “as is.”

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hire a Buddy is not responsible for any injury, damage, loss or dispute that comes from jobs arranged through the site or from contact between users.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as Hire a Buddy grows. If we make big changes, we’ll let you know on the site. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.

11. Florida law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
